Pewter Confederate States of America Belt Plate (rare)
Circa 1861-1865 by Noble Brothers foundry, Rome, Georgia.
Limited edition $150.00
Virginia Historical Society collection.
I dug my first US belt plate in 1955 and shown is my 1200th belt plate I dug in 1986.
From 1986 until 2007 I have dug a couple hundred more. If I go back and count the US box plates and Eagle breast plates it will bring the total close to 2000. If you add up fifty three years relic hunting and several years relic hunting just about every day, that's not that many.
